St Mary’s are South Kerry Champions

St Marys: 1-20(23)

Dromid 2-12(18)

St Marys took on 2019 champions Dromid Pearses today and claimed the Jack Murphy Cup and the South Kerry senior football championship honours.

Indeed, this weekend’s South Kerry final is a repeat of the last four finals with the two pre-eminent clubs in the district locking horns again for the local bragging rights on the Iveragh peninsula.

St Marys have won their 37th championship title. Both teams arrived at todays final on the back of hard-earned semi-final wins. St Marys have won six of the last seven South Kerry championships – including a five-timer from 2014 to 2018 – while Dromid picked up their second championship title in 2019 (after their first back in 2004). Bryan Sheehan has also won a record 13th championship medal
